vyact is a browser assistant that provides translation, word lookup, text-to-speech, page-context chat, reader mode, and vocabulary features. This policy explains how the vyact Chrome extension handles user data.

When you directly use a vyact feature, the extension may process:

• Text you select or submit for translation, lookup, chat, or speech.
• Website content needed for a feature you explicitly invoke.
• The title and URL of the active page, when needed to provide page context or save a vocabulary source.
• Extension settings and temporary feature state stored locally, such as interface language and chat state.

We use this data only to provide the feature you request, including translating content, explaining words, generating page-context responses, creating speech, and saving vocabulary entries. We do not use this data for advertising, creditworthiness, or unrelated profiling.

The extension sends required content to the Vyact companion service only after you invoke a feature. We do not sell user data. We do not transfer user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the requested service or when required by law.

Extension preferences and temporary feature data may be stored locally in your browser. You can remove locally stored extension data by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling the extension.

We take reasonable measures to protect information while it is being processed. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy when the extension or its data practices change. The latest version will always be available on this page.
